Residential Shastra Patashala in Chennai dedicated to cultivating extraordinary scholars in Nyaya, Vyakarana, Vedanta and other Shastras. Our mission is to preserve and advance the core wisdom of the Indian Knowledge System through rigorous traditional study and scholarship through Guru shishya parampara.
Students
The Gurukulam produces students who are

having deep knowledge of at least 1 Shastra

culturally rooted and grounded and posessing Bharatiya values like self-reliance, adaptability etc.

developed in a well rounded manner, not just textbook or rote memory oriented

exposed to modern subjects so they can take up many career streams aligned with Shastras or outside as well depending on their inclination

Students target for Tenali pareeksha and similar exams, which are well recognized.

Teaching is in line with Parampara and traditions, in gurukula method.

This is guided by renowned Shastra scholars, teachers are well trained Vidwans.

It is primarily residential for core courses, some additional courses are also offered online for the wider audience.

Medha Gurukulam is fortunate to be guided by two extraordinary scholars who have dedicated their lives to spread of Sashtras.


Brahmashri Mahamahopadhyaya
Devdutt Patil
is an eminent Nyaya, Mimamsa and Vyakarana scholar who has taught Sastras in Pune and is currently running the largest Sastra patashala in the country in Rivona, Goa.
Brahmashri Mahamahopadhyaya Mani Dravid Sastrigal
is an eminnent Vedanta, Mimamsa, Vyakarana and Nyaya scholar, who is a Professor at Madras Sanskrit College and is guiding many students in their Sastra studies.

Sudharshan S.P.
is an accomplished Nyaya scholar, who has completed Tenali mahapareeksha. He studied Nyaya in Gurukula method from Sri Dehalisha Ramanujacharya of Thirukkovalur, a shishya of Sri K.E. Devanathan acharya and Vishistadvaita directly under K.E. Devanathan acharya. In Vyakarana Shastra, he has done M. A. and pursuing Ph.D. Prior to Shastra studies, he finished B.Tech in Chemical Engg from NIT, Trichy and was pursuing a PhD at Texas A&M University, USA before he switched streams.

Vidyadheesh Katti
is a young and dedicated Vyakarana scholar, who has also completed Tenali mahapreeksha. He has studied directly in Goa Sastra patashala run by Shri Devdutt Patil mahodaya and studied Vyakarana under Shri Mohan Lal Sharma. He was one of the youngest scholars to complete Vyakarana Shastra. He has also studied Mimamsa directly under Shri Mani Dravid Sastrigal.

Manish Kumar
is a young and dedicated Vedanta scholar. He has completed his Shukla Yajur Veda education in Bengaluru. He then studied Vedanta Shastra directly under Vidwan K S Maheshwaran and his disciple Vidwan P R Vasudevan. He has also studied Vedanta Shastra directly under Mani Dravid Sastrigal. He is pursuing Ph.D. in Vedanta Shastra from Madras Sanskrit College.
